Beginning Quilting--Quilt --As --You--Go-- Placemats
Students will use the quilt-as-you -go technique to make placemats following the Bay Window placemat pattern. These placemats can be as scrappy as you like (or not). If you were just in the Pumpkin Hollow table runner class, it would be fun to use the coordinating fabrics to match your placemats to the table runner. The Bay Window pattern is available for purchase in our store.
SUPPLIES & MATERIALS
Students will need their own sewing machine (or to rent one for the day from the store). Students will also need basic quilting tools: rotary cutter, scissors, seam ripper, clips coordinating thread, and a quilting ruler.
Fabric requirements for 4, 8, or 12 placemats are included with the Bay Window placemat pattern.

| Requirements: | Participants must already be confident using a sewing machine (winding bobbins, threading the machine, sewing lines with a consistent seam allowance and changing stitches/stitch length). We will not be spending time in class on basic machine operation or basic sewing instruction. |

| Instructor Bio: | Christina began sewing after leaving her career as a biologist and she quickly fell in love. Her inspiration often come with nature-- though she does have a particular love of fabrics with gold and silver metallics. One of Christina's favorite parts of making a quilt is playing around with different fabrics to find her favorite combination for each pattern. She looks forward to sharing her passion and love of quilting and sewing with her students. |
