Beginning Quilting Border Fabric Zipper Pouch

Do you have some leftover border fabric that you haven't used?

Zipper pouches can be a great place to use up this fabric - of course you can use non-border fabrics too! Whatever fabric you choose, this bag is a lot of fun to sew. When selecting your border fabric, choose one that is a good height for your zipper pouch as some border fabrics are pretty narrow.
Students will learn to put in a zipper.
Supplies and Materials:

1 Fat Quarter of Fabric for Bag Outside
1 Fat Quarter of Fabric for Bag Lining
1/4-yard Shape Flex Interfacing (optional)
1/4-yard Flex Foam or Soft and Stable Stabilizer
10" or longer nylon (not metal) zipper

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Beginner
Requirements: Participants must already be confident using a sewing machine (winding bobbins, threading the machine, sewing straight lines with a consistent seam allowance, and changing stitches/stitch length). Instructor: Christina Wright
Instructor Bio: Christina began sewing after leaving her career as a biologist and she quickly fell in love. Her inspirations often come from nature --- though she does have a particular love of fabrics with gold and silver metallics. One of Christina's favorite parts of making a quilt is playing around with different fabric to find her favorite combination for each pattern. She looks forward to sharing her passion and love of quilting and sewing with her students.
