Beginning Quilting The Aubri Tote Bag

Who doesn't love a fun and functional Tote Bag? This quilted tote bag can be a scrap-buster project or use fabric in your favorite colors and themes. Whatever you choose, this bag is a lot of fun to sew.
In this class, you will work with a tumbler template for cutting the pieces, sew interior slip-in pockets, make reinforced straps, and you can even add a magnetic closure at the top of the bag, if desired.
SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS:
Students will need their own sewing machine (or rent one for the day at the shop). Students will also need basic quilting tools: rotary cutter, scissors, seam ripper, clips, coordinating thread for piecing and quilting, and a quilting ruler. Patterns are available for sale at Quilt 'N Fabric which provides the material list.

| Requirements: | Participants must already be confident using a sewing machine (winding bobbins, threading the machine, sewing straight lines with a consistent seam allowance, and changing stitches/stitch length). We will not be spending time in class on basic machine operation or basic sewing instruction. |
| Instructor: | Christina Wright |
| Instructor Bio: | Christina began sewing after leaving her career as a biologist and she quickly fell in love. Her inspirations often come from nature --- though she does have a particular love of fabrics with gold and silver metallics. One of Christina's favorite parts of making a quilt is playing around with different fabric to find her favorite combination for each pattern. She looks forward to sharing her passion and love of quilting and sewing with her students. |
