Beginning Quilting (6 sessions)
Do you want to learn the basics of quilting or improve your existings skills? If so, this is the class for you. In this class, you will be introduced to the basics of selecting fabric for creating a beautiful quilt. We will then cover measuring cutting and pieceing so that your quilt will come together beautifully. In this class we will be making a small lap quilt comprised of squares, half square triangles and boaders. Once your quilt top is complete, we will learn to assemble and pin together your quilt wandwich and quilt the layers together. Finally, students will learn to make quilt binding and bind the quilt.
Supplies and Materials:
The quilt top requires 3, 1 yard cuts of fabric. We will be discussing fabric selection in the first class, so you do not need to have fabric beforhand - unless you already have quilting cotton that you were thinking of using. Additional fabric will be required for the backing and binding.

| Requirements: | Participants must already be confident using a sewing machine (winding bobbins, threading the machine, sewing straight lines with a consistent seam allowance, and change stitches/stitch length.) |
| Instructor Bio: | Christina began sewing after leaving her career as a biologist and she fell quickly fell in love. Her inspirations often come from nature -- - though she does have a particular love of fabrics with gold and silver metallics. One of Christina's favorite parts of making a quilt is playing around with different fabrics to find her favorite combination for each pattern. She looks forward to sharing jher passion and love of quilting and sewing with her students. |
