Beginning Sewing: Intro to Basic Sewing (First of a 3 Class Block)


Introduction to Basic Sewing helps you learn the fundamentals of sewing, tools of the trade, and machine care.  You will also have the opportunity to apply learned skills by sewing  projects.  

Session 1:  Intro to Basics of Sewing - Tools of the Trade and Machine Care   (Session 101-a)

Session 2:  Intro to Techniques - Using Tools, Creating Seams, Straight-line Sewing, Computer Aids, and Sewing Notions.
     First Project: Pin Cushion

Session 3:  Intro to Sewing - Application of skills including reading simple patterns and building a sewing vocabulary
     Second Project: Magic Pillowcase

Each class is $30.

15% discount on materials/supplies upon registration and payment of class.


Student Requirements:


Enthusiasm to sew.  A working sewing machine is encouraged but not necessary.

Note: 
  Machines can be purchased at Quilt & Fabrics.  All notions and supplies canfore purchased at a 15% discount for students after registration and payment of the class

Instructor: Sheilah Butler
Instructor Bio: Sheilah was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area and began her sewing career in Junior High School and has continued her sewing skills, for years 50+ years. Sheilah loves to create and design her creations that include but does not limit her talents to grow, clothing, childrens clothing, bag making, quilting and teaching.
