"Tripping" Quick "Trip Quilts
This quilt will make you feel like a professional but is accessible to anyone who has taken one of our Beginning/Basic Quilting Classes or has completed a quilt and is proficient in cutting materials, accurate ¼” seams and piecing of blocks. Class members receive a 15% discount on all materials after registering for class and paying the fee.
It is essential that you have knowledge of and are easily able to thread and use your machine. If you have not sewn in a while, I encourage you to spending some time stitching two pieces of fabric with edges line up accurately using a straight stitch for practice.

FABRIC
- Body of Quilt – ¼ yard of six coordinating fabrics
- Border – ¼ yard of fabric
- Second border (optional) – 1/3 yard of fabric
- Batting – 40” x 50”
- Binding fabric – ½ yard
TOOLS
- Sewing machine. We suggest that you bring yours, but you rent ours for $5.00 per session. Please let us know ahead of time.
- Quilting ruler – 6” or 6 ½” x 24”
- Rotary cutter plus extra blades
- Scissors that cut fabric well
- Pins – lots of good pins- and a good pin cushion
- ¼” foot to fit your machine – strongly recommended
- White or off-white thread for top and bobbin – several filled bobbins
- Thread that coordinates with quilt top – chosen after top is pieced.
